my old 2ds got revived
i think i implied it in my second blog but, back in january of this year i used my christmas money and bought myself a used nintendo 2ds. it's red, and the screen is a little dented, but i love it. i probably would be as happy now if i didn't buy it, but also #i #love #the #3ds. okay?
i actually had 2 when i was a kid. my mom would bring me and my older brother with her to church a lot of the time. i didn't really care about that sort of thing. so a lot of the time my brother and i hung out with some of the other kids who were there. we did a lot of fun things, and i do treasure the memories i can remember...
BUT. one of these kids had a 3ds xl. this 3ds xl was the most fascinating console to me. one day it had gotten to the point where my mom had bought me a console just like it. that or she bought it off the kid's mom. i don't remember.
anyway i broke that console after like a year. for my birthday that year, my parents bought me a blue 2ds that came with mario kart 7 bundled. i cherished it dearly and kept it for a long while.
and then in 2022, i got the idea to hack it. for various reasons. none i need to disclose.
i could tell you what happened to it, but i think my screenshot explains it better than i could.
featuring an former friend of mine. actually, i probably could explain it a bit more. something during the process had gone wrong. i couldn't fixed, so i had decided i would just remove all the hacking and leave it as is... by wiping the sd card.
this effectively made it so that my 2ds wouldn't boot. it was a tragic loss and i mourned it for the next 5 years.... until i bought the one i mentioned in january.
before january, the 3ds xl did actually start working miraculously. it was pretty unstable though. the wifi chip is busted, and touching it slightly in the wrong way makes it turn off and stay turned off for about a day. after hacking my red 2ds had gone well, i wanted to try hacking the 3ds xl for more practice as well. in doing so, i had an sd card that had homebre software and the files for a 2ds to boot...
flash-forward to last night, and i'm messing with the 3ds xl, trying to get streetpasses and tomodachi life islanders for my red 2ds's save... just to see what would happen, i put the 3ds xl's sd card into my blue 2ds (the one that was bricked.)
i let it charge for a bit as well... and then i pushed the power button.
(it was actually 5 years, but i had misremembered the date lol)
i made a big deal about this to all my friends. you can understand why though, right? i really thought that blue 2ds was done for. searching online gave me no results on any issues like mine either.
this brings me to the point of the blog title.
bearblog, please always keep hope in your heart, okay? never give up. no matter how dire things get, you must always keep pushing.
